• Complacency/“stuck” at work: Only about 23% of employees worldwide are engaged at work; the rest are disengaged or actively disengaged. (Source: Gallup – State of the Global Workplace)

These aren’t just statistics. They’re signals: many people feel like they’re surviving, not living.

Why So Many Feel Defeated

When we live without Christ at the center, we try to fill the void with achievement, relationships, money, or entertainment—and still come up empty. The Bible explains why:

• We were made for God: “You have made us for Yourself, Lord” (echoed throughout Scripture). Nothing else satisfies (cf. Psalm 16:11).
• Only Christ gives true life: “Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life…” — John 5:24 (NIV)
• Misplaced focus drains us: “Set your hearts on things above… set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.” — Colossians 3:1–2 (NIV)

It’s okay not to know how to fix the emptiness. That’s exactly why we trust the One who does—the Lord Jesus Christ.

God’s Answers: How Life Comes Back

1) Receive the Son

“Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.”

Life starts with a Person, not a program. Say “yes” to Jesus Christ.

2) Shift Your Focus

“Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above… Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.”

— Colossians 3:1–2 (NIV)

What you stare at shapes you. Fill your mind with Scripture and prayer daily.

3) Trade Panic for Prayer

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God… will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

Prayer doesn’t always remove problems, but it brings God’s peace in them.

4) Let Hope Grow Through Trials

“We also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame…”

With Jesus, pain becomes a pathway to deeper hope.

5) Shine—Don’t Hide

“In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”

Heavenly Father, I confess I’ve settled for a life stolen by boredom, doubt, and emptiness. Today I come to You because Jesus Christ is true life. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit.
