đ¤ â The Excuse Thatâs Enabling Darkness
Letâs be real:
Some of us donât call out sin because weâre afraid of the backlash.
- âI donât want to offend anyone.â
- âWho am I to judge?â
- âJust leave those people aloneâitâs not our business.â
- âThatâs between them and God.â

Yes, we should hate the sin, not the sinner.
But hereâs the truth:
If you refuse to acknowledge the sin, you’re silently approving it.
And if youâre afraid of being judged for not agreeing with sin, youâre already being controlled by it.
âHave nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them.â
â Ephesians 5:11
âIf anyone sees his brother committing a sin not leading to death, he shall ask, and God will give him lifeâŚâ
â 1 John 5:16
âWhoever turns a sinner from the error of their way will save them from death and cover over a multitude of sins.â
â James 5:20
God never told us to shame peopleâbut He did tell us to warn them.

đ§ââď¸ âI Donât Want to Sound CondemningâŚâ
Understandable.
But donât let that stop you from telling the truth in love.
âOpen rebuke is better than hidden love.â
â Proverbs 27:5
âFaithful are the wounds of a friend; profuse are the kisses of an enemy.â
â Proverbs 27:6
If someone was about to walk off a cliff, would you say,
âWho am I to judge their direction?â
Or would you shout, âSTOPâ?
âWhen I say to the wicked, âYou shall surely die,â and you give him no warning⌠his blood I will require at your hand.â
â Ezekiel 3:18
đ Weâre Not BetterâWeâre All Guilty Without Christ
Letâs be clear:
We donât expose sin because weâre perfect.
We do it because weâve been saved from the same trapsâand we want others free too.
âFor all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.â
â Romans 3:23
âIf we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.â
â 1 John 1:8
But just because we all sin doesnât mean we should all stay silent.
The most loving thing we can do is speak truth that leads to repentance.
âThose whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest and repent.â
â Revelation 3:19
đ¨ So Speak the TruthâOr You Might As Well Be Agreeing With the Lie
If we wonât stand for Godâs truthâŚ
If we wonât hold ourselves or others to any standardâŚ
Then weâre just spiritual bystanders on the road to destruction.
âWhoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters.â
â Matthew 12:30
âIf the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet⌠his blood will I require at the watchmanâs hand.â
â Ezekiel 33:6
So yesâhate the sin, not the sinner.
But remember: if you donât warn the sinner, youâre not really loving them at all.
đ Final Reminder + Call to Repentance
Weâve all sinned, and we all still battle the flesh.
But silence isnât mercyâitâs misdirection.
And grace without truth? Thatâs just permission in disguise.
So today, if you feel convictedâdonât run from it.
Repent.
Get right.
Speak truth.
And love people enough to tell them the hard stuff too.
đ Final Prayer of Repentance, Boldness & Surrender
Father,
I confess that Iâve been afraid to speak. Afraid of being judged, misunderstood, or rejected. Iâve stayed quiet when I shouldâve spoken up. Iâve chosen comfort over conviction.Forgive me. Cleanse me. Give me boldness to stand for truth in love. Help me expose darkness without becoming bitter. Teach me to love people enough to call sin what it isâwithout pride, but also without apology.
And Lord, I repent for my own sin. Wash me. Free me. Transform me. I donât want to just sound spiritualâI want to be surrendered.
In Jesusâ name,
Amen.
