🕊️ In Loving Memory of Richard Samora — and a Call to Support His Brother, Roland
A number of weeks have passed since we laid Richard Samora (February 4, 1995 – October 13, 2025) to rest. The service at Crowder Funeral Home in Webster was filled with love, tears, and the undeniable presence of God. We continue to celebrate Richard’s life and pray for healing for everyone touched by this tragedy.
Remembering Richard
Richard was known for his bravery, humor, and compassion. During Hurricane Harvey, he risked his life to rescue an elderly man in Friendswood, Texas. He dreamed of opening a Tex-Mex food truck in Colorado, and he carried a deep conviction to defend those who couldn’t defend themselves and to bring joy wherever he went.
Even in death, his giving spirit continues. As a registered organ donor, his final act of love is saving the lives of eight people. His story reminds us that light still shines in the darkest moments.
Faith Through the Storm
The Samora family has walked through unimaginable pain. After the loss of Lucas and now Richard, their faith has been tested—yet Richard had found his way back to God. We believe he is united with Christ, free from pain, and surrounded by perfect love. Through his life and testimony, many have found the courage to pray again.
Roland’s Road to Healing & Work
Richard’s brother Roland Samora survived the shooting and is now in recovery from a rebuilt collarbone, as well as the emotional trauma of all that has happened. Roland is currently displaced from work and awaiting a follow-up appointment at the end of November, when doctors will determine whether additional surgery is needed.
We are praying and believing for complete healing—physically, mentally, and spiritually—and that no further procedure will be required. Until then, Roland needs help staying afloat and, ideally, a light-duty job that will not strain his shoulder or collarbone. If you know of suitable opportunities, please reach out and share.

A Prayer for the Samora Family
Lord Jesus,
We thank You for Richard’s life—his laughter, his courage, his compassion. We ask that You pour out peace on this family. Heal Roland’s body completely; bring wholeness to mind and spirit for every loved one. Provide what is needed today—work, strength, and rest—and guide the doctors at the end-of-November appointment. We trust You for complete healing and Your perfect will in every detail. In Your holy name we pray, Amen.
