Bible Verse:

Habakkuk 3:17-18 (ESV)
“Though the fig tree should not blossom, nor fruit be on the vines, the produce of the olive fail and the fields yield no food, the flock be cut off from the fold and there be no herd in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord; I will take joy in the God of my salvation.”

Devotional: Praising God in the Rain

Life doesn’t always go the way we expect. There are seasons of abundance and seasons of drought, days of sunshine and days of relentless rain. It’s easy to praise God when everything is going well, but what about when life gets tough?

Habakkuk gives us a powerful example of unwavering faith. Even when everything around him was falling apart—when the crops failed, when there was no food, no provision—he still chose to rejoice in the Lord. His joy wasn’t based on his circumstances but on the unchanging nature of God.

Rain in our lives can take many forms—trials, disappointments, hardships—but even in the storm, God is still good. He is still faithful. When we choose to praise Him in the rain, we acknowledge that our hope isn’t in our situation but in our Savior. Worship shifts our focus from our problems to His power, from our struggles to His sovereignty.

So today, no matter what kind of “rain” you’re facing, lift up a song of praise. Let your worship be louder than your worries. Because even in the storm, God is still working, still loving, and still worthy of all our praise.

Prayer:
Lord, help me to praise You not just in the sunshine but in the storm. When life is difficult, remind me that You are still on the throne, and my hope is in You. No matter what I face, I choose to rejoice in You, for You are my salvation and my strength. In the of Jesus Christ, Amen.
