— And Let’s Talk About You Too
A Spiritual Interview Between You and the Truth
By: Steven Jones II | UponThisRock.Church
“Jehu destroyed Baal out of Israel. But Jehu did not turn aside from the sins of Jeroboam… and the Lord said to Jehu, ‘Because you have done well… your sons will reign…’ But Jehu was not careful to walk in the law of the Lord with all his heart.”
— 2 Kings 10:28–31 (ESV)

So… Can We Talk?
You’ve been fighting.
You’ve been pushing through.
You’ve torn down some strongholds.
You’ve walked away from people who meant you no good.
You even stood up to the “Jezebels” in your life—the manipulation, the pride, the false control.
That’s real. That’s powerful. That’s something to be proud of.
But can I ask you a harder question?
What About the Golden Calves?
Jehu was chosen by God. He was anointed, set apart, and sent to bring justice.
And he did. He tore down wicked kings. He confronted Jezebel. He fulfilled prophecy.
“Thus says the Lord… ‘You shall strike down the house of Ahab… and dogs shall eat Jezebel.’”
— 2 Kings 9:7–10
He didn’t hesitate. He threw Jezebel down. He took out Baal worship. He was bold. He was obedient.
…Sort of.
Because Scripture tells us:
“But Jehu did not turn aside from the sins of Jeroboam… the golden calves.”
— 2 Kings 10:29
So let me ask you gently—
What golden calves are you still holding onto?
What little compromises have you justified?
What idols have you renamed “personality” or “preference”?
What sins are still hiding in your blind spot?
I Know You’ve Been Through A Lot
You’ve survived pain.
You’ve outgrown old habits.
You’ve changed friends.
You’ve cleaned house.
You’ve even thrown a few “Jezebels” out the window—and I’m not talking about people—I’m talking about mindsets.
But there’s still something else to face.
Let Me Show You Why This Matters
Jesus once explained how evil doesn’t just vanish—it waits.
“When an unclean spirit goes out… it finds the house empty, swept clean, and puts it in order. Then it brings seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they enter and dwell there…”
— Matthew 12:43–45
That’s not just personal—it’s national.

Look at the United States of America:
In 1776, we kicked out tyranny and declared ourselves one nation under God.
We honored biblical principles, prayed in schools, and built a land of opportunity.
But… we never truly gave up our idols.
- We kept the golden bull—the symbol of greed on Wall Street.
- We called child sacrifice “reproductive rights.”
- We traded discernment for celebrity worship, and conviction for comfort.
- We tolerated things like Epstein’s empire, corruption, and spiritual numbness.
- And we let entertainment become our teacher—and now witchcraft is in cartoons.
So the evil we once drove out has come back—with friends.
And what does Jesus say happens then?
“And the last state of that person is worse than the first.” — Matthew 12:45
You May Be Asking, “What About Separation of Church and State?”
I’m glad you brought it up.
That phrase simply meant the government shouldn’t control the Church—not that God isn’t King.
The Bible says:
“The Most High rules the kingdom of men and gives it to whom He will.”
— Daniel 4:17
God is in control—whether we legislate Him out or not.
He’s not running for office. He reigns eternally.
Let’s Get Back to You
You’ve come a long way.
You’ve been through more than people know.
But here’s the truth…
“Do not be deceived: God is not mocked. Whatever a man sows, that will he also reap.”
— Galatians 6:7
So what are you sowing right now?
Jehu sowed justice—but he also sowed idolatry.
And later, his bloodline paid the price.
“I will punish the house of Jehu for the blood of Jezreel.”
— Hosea 1:4
So… Are You Willing to Finish What You Started?
I’m not asking if you go to church.
I’m not asking if people think you’re spiritual.
I’m asking…
- Are you fully surrendered?
- Are you letting Jesus deal with the private places in your life?
- Are you tired of doing it your way?
“You shall love the Lord your God with ALL your heart, ALL your soul, and ALL your mind.”
— Matthew 22:37
That’s the invitation today.
Not to “do more.”
Not to “try harder.”
But to lay it all down.
❤️ Let’s Pray Together
Jesus,
I’ve overcome some things—but I see now that I’ve been stopping short. I’ve fought battles but kept idols. I’ve served You publicly but wrestled secretly.Today, I give You everything. Not just my words—but my heart, my habits, my hidden places.
Deliver me from the Jezebel spirit—and from the spirit of compromise. Break every chain of pride, fear, and deception in my life.
I surrender. I want to finish well. I don’t just want to be useful—I want to be holy.
Use me, change me, purify me—and keep me.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
