Persistence or Insanity?
The difference isn’t how many times you repeat something — it’s who is leading what you keep repeating.
We’ve all heard the saying: “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.”
Sometimes that’s true. But the Bible shows us something deeper: repetition isn’t automatically wrong — it depends on what you’re repeating and who is leading it.
Galatians 6:7 (WEB)
“Whatever a person plants, that is what will grow.”
If you keep repeating bad habits, sinful patterns, or self-justifications and hope things will magically change, that’s not faith — that’s a cycle God wants to break.
But if you keep doing good, keep obeying, keep praying, keep showing up, even when you don’t see results yet — that’s not insanity. That’s sowing.
God doesn’t ask you to balance good and bad on your own. He asks you to include Him in everything and let Him guide and correct your balance.
The takeaway is simple: If the Holy Spirit is leading, persistence is faith. If pride is leading, repetition becomes insanity.
