Introduction — The Urgency of Isaiah’s Call

Isaiah’s invitation isn’t casual. “Seek the Lord while he may be found; call on him while he is near.” It speaks of a window of opportunity that is open now. In a world that feels increasingly chaotic and numb to evil, God’s voice still calls: “Draw near.” Don’t wait for a “better” time—this is the moment to respond.

I. A Numb Age: When Evil Gets Called Good

The Bible warned of days when people would call evil good and good evil. Isaiah 5:20. We’re tempted to shrug at sin, to normalize what God says harms our souls. Yet Scripture calls us to be transformed rather than conformed (Romans 12:2), to hate what is evil and cling to what is good (Romans 12:9).

II. The Persecution We Rarely Hear About

Much of the mainstream conversation overlooks the severe persecution of Christians in parts of the world. In Nigeria, watchdogs have documented tens of thousands of Christians killed since 2000, alongside recurring village massacres and mass displacement. Representative reporting and data:

Genocide Watch has repeatedly warned of a “silent slaughter,” estimating ~62,000 Christians killed since 2000 and ongoing genocidal patterns.
International Christian Concern reported at least 85 Christians killed across Benue in a single week (June 2025).

III. Why Drawing Near Is Our Only Hope

When darkness grows, our hope isn’t to get tougher on our own—it’s to get closer to God. James 4:8; Psalm 145:18; Hebrews 4:16. He offers presence, cleansing, wisdom, and strength. And He invites us to come as we are. Mark 2:17; Luke 19:10.

IV. How to Respond — Surrender Now

Decide today: “Lord, I surrender.” (Isaiah 55:6–7)
Confess and turn: Let Him cleanse your heart (James 4:8).
Make space for Him: Pray, read, listen (Psalm 119:105).
Obey step by step: Do what He shows you (John 14:15).
Walk with others: Stay connected to the body of Christ (Hebrews 10:24–25).

Conclusion — Don’t Wait Any Longer

The times are heavy, but God’s mercy is near. You don’t have to “clean up” first—come as you are. Believe, surrender, and begin. Watch how Christ takes over and transforms your life.
