Games People Play

Intro:

God is not the author of confusion, he is the God of peace. (ref from 1 corinthians 14:33)

God is not going to play games with you. He is not going to manipulate you. He is never going to fail you. Humans on the other hand, well we need to recognize our flaws and ask God to correct us where we are lacking. We need to surrender to him and put all of our trust into him. We do that through actions, words, thoughts, and decisions. We make sure that our very being is surrendered to him. Put no faith in man, put it all on God. Today we are going to talk about you and me and the games people play.

  1. People don’t say what they mean, and they don’t mean what they say
  1. Matt 5:33-47 says we need to let our yes be yes, and our no, no.
  2. Anything outside of this is EVIL. We need to make sure that what we say is always the TRUTH and the way things are.
  3. We need to say what we mean and mean what we say. (colossians 4:6)
  4. People think they know everything
  1. We all know someone who is an “expert” on just about everything but you don’t ever see them doing the things that they are “such and expert” at, right?
  2. James 3:13-18 explains that we have to seek godly wisdom and not full be full of ourselves.
  3. Our wisdom should come from above, not below.
  4. People claim the name God.
  1. 2 Corinthians 11:14-15 explains how the enemy is sneaky
  2. This is why we have false churches, many of them are jealous of eachother, and selfishly ambitious for attendance to claim the revenue rather than claim some souls for God.
  3. The more you study your bible, pray, and apply to your life and pray, the more you can see this reality.
  4. People Trust in themself
  1. People are so full of themself that they think that they are God.
  2. We need to seriously surrender everything to God.
  3. We should only trust in God – Jeremiah 17:5

John 3:16-17

God does not force us to love him because then, would that be love? He has a plan and he wants us to quit playing Games with each other.

Lord, I pray that in the name of Jesus Christ that I can have the discernment to see who your true servants are. Use me Lord to do your will, to bless others and build the kingdom. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, all chains are broken, all spirits of bondage are removed, and all plans and agenda of the enemy are canceled.  May I serve you with all my actions, words, thoughts, and decisions. It is in Jesus Christ mighty name we pray, amen!

Bible Verses:

Matthew 5:33-37 ESV

“Again you have heard that it was said to those of old, ‘You shall not swear falsely, but shall perform to the Lord what you have sworn.’ But I say to you, Do not take an oath at all, either by heaven, for it is the throne of God, or by the earth, for it is his footstool, or by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King. And do not take an oath by your head, for you cannot make one hair white or black. Let what you say be simply ‘Yes’ or ‘No’; anything more than this comes from evil.

Colossians 4:6 ESV

Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person.

James 3:13-18

English Standard Version

Wisdom from Above

13 Who is wise and understanding among you? By his good conduct let him show his works in the meekness of wisdom. 14 But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast and be false to the truth. 15 This is not the wisdom that comes down from above, but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic. 16 For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there will be disorder and every vile practice. 17 But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere. 18 And a harvest of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.

2 Corinthians 11:14-15

English Standard Version

14 And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. 15 So it is no surprise if his servants, also, disguise themselves as servants of righteousness. Their end will correspond to their deeds.

Jeremiah 17:5

English Standard Version

5 Thus says the Lord:

“Cursed is the man who trusts in man

    and makes flesh his strength,[a]

whose heart turns away from the Lord.

John 3:16-17

English Standard Version

For God So Loved the World

16 “For God so loved the world,[a] that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.
