Out of the Trap: Trust Over Fear
We’re fed fear 24/7. Headlines, notifications, hot takes—“you’re in danger” on repeat. But God says there’s a safer way: trust in the Lord. When He is your audience, the fear-of-people trap loses its teeth.
Why fear feels constant right now
- Always-on feeds: Adults average ~6h38m online/day; TV still adds ~2.6 h/day.
- News by algorithm: ~1 in 5 U.S. adults get news on TikTok; **43%** among under-30s.
- Stressed & lonely: **77%** cite national future as a major stressor; about **half** of adults report loneliness.
- Widespread anxiety: ~**359M** people worldwide live with anxiety disorders (~4.4%).
Bottom line: Fear is loud. God is louder—if we listen. Ps 46:10 · Isa 41:10
What the snare looks like (symptoms)

- People-pleasing burnout: You say “yes” to everyone and “no” to obedience. Col 3:23–24
- Doomscrolling spiral: You check bad news more than Good News. Phil 4:8

Final Prayer — Repentance, Deliverance, Surrender
Father, I confess I’ve feared people more than I’ve trusted You. Jesus, forgive me and break the snare of people-pleasing, anxiety, and doom-thinking. Holy Spirit, fill me with power, love, and a sound mind. Teach me to hear Your voice above the noise and to obey without delay. I surrender my reputation, my feed, and my future to You. Keep me safe as I trust in the Lord. In Jesus’ name, amen.
