Wanna Live for God…?

Wanna Live for God but Don’t Know Where to Begin?

John 6:29 (NIV)“Jesus answered, ‘The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.’”

Start with Belief

If you’re wondering how to live for God, Jesus gave the simplest—and deepest—answer: believe in Him. Not religion, not tradition, not trying harder, not “being a good person.” Belief is the beginning. When you truly put your trust in Christ, God begins the work of transformation in you.

“But Isn’t Being Good Enough?”

Many think heaven is for those who are “good” or who “do nice things.” Scripture says otherwise:

  • Romans 3:10 (NIV): “There is no one righteous, not even one.”
  • Mark 10:18 (NIV): “No one is good—except God alone.”
  • Isaiah 64:6 (NIV): “All our righteous acts are like filthy rags.”

Matthew 7:21–23 (NIV)

“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’”

Jesus’ warning: impressive ministry activity cannot replace a real relationship with Him.

Doing good is good—but good deeds don’t save. Only Jesus saves.

The Brokenness We All See (and Feel)

We can’t fix ourselves. The world’s pain proves it.

The Bible gives a clear solution:

  • John 14:6: “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
  • Romans 10:9: “If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”
  • Ephesians 2:8–9: “By grace… through faith… not by works.”
  • Galatians 2:16: “A person is not justified by the works of the law but by faith in Jesus Christ.”

So What Do I Do Today?

Come as you are. Jesus isn’t asking you to clean up first; He asks you to believe and follow Him. From there, He changes you from the inside out.

  • Acts 16:31: “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your household.”
  • 2 Corinthians 5:17: “If anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come.”
  • Galatians 5:22–23: The Holy Spirit produces fruit—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
  • Titus 3:5: “He saved us… not because of righteous things we had done, but because of His mercy.”
  • James 2:17: Real faith brings real fruit—not to earn salvation, but because you’ve been saved.

Prayer of Repentance, Deliverance, and Surrender

Heavenly Father, I come to You just as I am. I confess I am a sinner and cannot save myself. Lord Jesus, I believe You are the Son of God—You died for my sins and rose on the third day. Today I repent and turn to You. Wash me in Your blood. Deliver me from every chain—sin, addiction, fear, doubt. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit and make me new. I surrender everything to You and choose to follow You all my days. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Next Steps

  • Get a Bible (start with John, Romans, Ephesians).
  • Find a Christ-centered, Bible-teaching church.
  • Pray daily—honest, simple, real.
  • Invite a trusted believer to walk with you.
  • Serve others as the fruit of your faith (not the basis of it).
