Who Am I to Judge?

🤐 — The Excuse That’s Enabling Darkness

Let’s be real:
Some of us don’t call out sin because we’re afraid of the backlash.

  • “I don’t want to offend anyone.”
  • “Who am I to judge?”
  • “Just leave those people alone—it’s not our business.”
  • “That’s between them and God.”

Yes, we should hate the sin, not the sinner.
But here’s the truth:
If you refuse to acknowledge the sin, you’re silently approving it.
And if you’re afraid of being judged for not agreeing with sin, you’re already being controlled by it.

“Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them.”
— Ephesians 5:11

“If anyone sees his brother committing a sin not leading to death, he shall ask, and God will give him life…”
— 1 John 5:16

“Whoever turns a sinner from the error of their way will save them from death and cover over a multitude of sins.”
— James 5:20

God never told us to shame people—but He did tell us to warn them.

🧎‍♂️ “I Don’t Want to Sound Condemning…”

Understandable.
But don’t let that stop you from telling the truth in love.

“Open rebuke is better than hidden love.”
— Proverbs 27:5

“Faithful are the wounds of a friend; profuse are the kisses of an enemy.”
— Proverbs 27:6

If someone was about to walk off a cliff, would you say,
“Who am I to judge their direction?”
Or would you shout, “STOP”?

“When I say to the wicked, ‘You shall surely die,’ and you give him no warning… his blood I will require at your hand.”
— Ezekiel 3:18

💔 We’re Not Better—We’re All Guilty Without Christ

Let’s be clear:
We don’t expose sin because we’re perfect.
We do it because we’ve been saved from the same traps—and we want others free too.

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”
— Romans 3:23

“If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.”
— 1 John 1:8

But just because we all sin doesn’t mean we should all stay silent.

The most loving thing we can do is speak truth that leads to repentance.

“Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest and repent.”
— Revelation 3:19

🚨 So Speak the Truth—Or You Might As Well Be Agreeing With the Lie

If we won’t stand for God’s truth…
If we won’t hold ourselves or others to any standard…
Then we’re just spiritual bystanders on the road to destruction.

“Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters.”
— Matthew 12:30

“If the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet… his blood will I require at the watchman’s hand.”
— Ezekiel 33:6

So yes—hate the sin, not the sinner.
But remember: if you don’t warn the sinner, you’re not really loving them at all.

🙏 Final Reminder + Call to Repentance

We’ve all sinned, and we all still battle the flesh.
But silence isn’t mercy—it’s misdirection.
And grace without truth? That’s just permission in disguise.

So today, if you feel convicted—don’t run from it.

Repent.
Get right.
Speak truth.
And love people enough to tell them the hard stuff too.

🛐 Final Prayer of Repentance, Boldness & Surrender

Father,
I confess that I’ve been afraid to speak. Afraid of being judged, misunderstood, or rejected. I’ve stayed quiet when I should’ve spoken up. I’ve chosen comfort over conviction.

Forgive me. Cleanse me. Give me boldness to stand for truth in love. Help me expose darkness without becoming bitter. Teach me to love people enough to call sin what it is—without pride, but also without apology.

And Lord, I repent for my own sin. Wash me. Free me. Transform me. I don’t want to just sound spiritual—I want to be surrendered.

In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
